In the UK, the Portfolio Pathway, previously referred to as the CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration), provides a route for doctors who obtained their medical qualifications outside the UK or EU, or those trained in the UK but who do not meet the standard criteria for direct entry into the Specialist Register.
