The CESR pathway is designed to assess whether an internationally trained doctor’s qualifications, experience, and skills are equivalent to those of a UK-trained specialist. The ultimate goal is to obtain a CESR, which grants eligibility for inclusion on the General Medical Council’s (GMC) Specialist Register.
